and then it rained..

Last Friday, my ol' trusty Satria thinks she is a Motorboat.

Oh yes it rained.
And flooded.

And rained the heaven did like it never rained before.
We were inconveniently sardined into the car, which I thank God for good company, and we were a good company sardined into that hatchback car of mine from 4 pm to 11 pm!

My youngest sister, whom I picked up from school at 1 pm (on the same day lah) told me its like a journey accross the country, but the range of distance clocked was only 31 km.
She was devastated when I read out the numbers.
Would it better if the hours were used to reach some southern beach 400 kms away, hmm?

Massive jams in KL everytime there is rain.
Have to push the responsible authority for a better rain drainage, fools, thinking that it rains seasonally. So as if this thing shall pass.
(If you're not responsible, don't bother lah) Buat rugi airliur.

Haven't you heard of the worst global warming, and we can expect it getting worse.
Earth hour is one good baby step, but still, a long way to go and Mother Earth is beyond repair.
Kesian kat anak2 kita nanti. Huuuu (berkata aku yang memacu kereta berenjin petrol)

Yes yes. Rain drainage. Tol je pandai naik. Jalan (longkang pun) macam hantu.

AND! please cut down the trees that would be hazardous to the road users.
Not the trees in our Forest Reserve. Sheeeeesh.

So these were the thoughts we had while we were stuck in the massive crawl last Friday.
No time is wasted if its with your loved ones.

Boredom is not the usual case.
Panic, is not either.

But then boredom struck the car, which had been toying with the idea 'hey I can float through the flood. And which it did.'
And strikes the Panic when the schizophrenic car finally realizes that a car shall remain a car and cannot float through water. And then it died out of embarrassment.
As we caused the second reason for the traffic jam.

We came back home at 1.
Happy to be home nonetheless.

pix by berita harian
1.Been busy.
Monday yesterday was sucky, traffic was extremely horrendous, roadblocks as instructed by paranoid ministers, 2 solid hours just to reach court, turning up late for a hearing before 'the judge' in sessions 11 (you-know-who) and had to run to the other side of the massive court for case management. But it wasn't all that bad, after bated breath, leg cramps and clumsy encounters, meeting friends after court is always a treat to the heart sore.

And now preparing for a taxation hearing on Thursday (seriously I don't know what to expect). Any clues?

2. Basikal bogel.
Got myself a new exercise regime, a Le Run mtb (grinning all the way). "Basikal bogel" thats what Mak calls it (because she says it lacks basket, carrier, mud guards, dynamo light and ring bell -all those the olden bikes used to be equipped with).
And twenty minutes is all it takes for a healthier heart.
(and maybe firmer thighs. Sigh)

And almost a rundown, the heart was blasting like a ticking bomb ready to explode!
My God. My body is my temple and I've been neglecting it...

3. bulan-bulan sebelum Ramadhan
Got a friendly call by my mentor, the murabbi to be exact kak AG called to ask "apa khabar amalan bulan rejab?" and it got.me.right.there.

She said" banyakkan selawat, dan tadabbur Quran".

Just a friendly reminder. =)
For you and me.

the Martin boys

I love cars.

I spent parts of my best weekends watching Clarkson, May, hamster Hammond and the Stig, salivating over covers their zine version, feeling I could give myself a pity that I drive around a Proton just because it gets me from point A to point B cheaply.

Anyhoo (as NW liked to put it) that won't stop me from admiring, right?
Thing is, you'd expect after gawking at'em for so long, you would've thought I could name each car make, model and year perfectly.

To my defense, I would say I'm almost always confused with the Ferrari numbers which I cannot keep up except of course The Enzo (the front grill is always something to shout about) and F50.

I know FD can name all the Lambos when I can only point out Reventon perfectly (because it looks disturbingly like a jet).

Maybe its got something to do with the fact that I don't fancy the exotic Italianos, so I don't pay much attention to em.

Other cars, even the Oldsmobile, I can try my best to guess it.
Oooh especially muscle cars.

But not Aston Martins.
DBS, DB9, DB7 and V8.
Even the names are confusing enough.

Its not I don't like martins but why don't they just ditch their fanaticism over David Beckham and move to name their machines aptly?

I lost a car- guessing quiz because I can't tell them apart.
Hehe. Seems I'm sound like a sourgrape, but I'll let you be the judge.

(answers: DBS, DB9 and V8 vantage in such order)

haha.
So the best way to put a stop to my inability to name them correctly, is that I have to see and hear and breathe them more.

And to do that, it means the gomen will have to do away with the incredible taxes so people like you and I can alas own something decent and built passionately by their engineers.

Maybe then you'll stop seeing me in the cheap tin-can made, Mitsu-imitated designed, zero mark crash dummy test, dangerously engineered Proton.

naked what?

Had this conversation with my brother who'd said he'll love to have a cruiser bike someday (shadow /vulcan etc)
He was quick to dismiss that I prefer those of full pairing superbike (eg zzr250 br cbr fireblade)
But I told him I prefer naked bikes.
And he goes naked whaat?

~pls don't get into the wrong idea here~

Remember before I'd posted on this blog that Mr Dhiren was looking for a buyer for his monster?
the one selling cheap at 18k for cod buyers?
thata one. Yup thats one naked bike.
Its called "Naked" because its sans the fairing. Now u know.

My first encounter with the those rugged bikes would have been Bimota db series, at the International Motorshow some six years ago and I looked it up. And when I saw the Bimota delirio, I was really impressed and start to dream about having a husband with that kinda bike.

Wahlau macho I tell you.

Lucky for me my guy is obsessed with it too(bless him for his good taste!).
He likes Ducati monster (okeyla but the latest version takde pillion seat..huhu xboleh tumpang dia..ahahah) so I'm trying to convince him that the Raptor's 'gundam headlights' are unique.

He looks good with it.
Excuse me for my taste =P.

have wheels will travel

The last time I ran was weeks ago as my adidas trainers were left in Serdang.
But that few days of zilch cardio workout gave me a hard time to even breathe.

I just turned 25 last week but Uncle Tan next door ran even faster than I can!

While waiting for my trainers to actually walk to me back home, I keep myself happy (and my body~ in a very sorry state I guess) by gardening.

But maybe, just maybe~ I'm having my mid mid life crisis (e.g #1gardening?) (and what about #2 the mad shopping spree in Fotokem?) but right now I really want to go mountain biking.
(Blame syerotte for this Number three madness.)

I used to have a MTB Bike, complete with frontal fork suspension, but I left it to rut in the bicycle shade in Nusaybah, IIU.

Not that intended to (leave it to rut) but that bike was once stolen and when I found it, the bike was chained and locked by the new owner thief. Sukati je.

The thing is I was ym~ing today with Syerotte who said she had fun mountainbiking for 5 hours in Southampton made me miss the time I used to do the same. Giler ah. Memang sangat best.
But she said on caution that a sore bum is unavoidable if the bike is puchased from Giant etc. (read: cheap bikes) Haha. But I told her I'm not going to cycle too long. So the bum will not sore so bad, so I don't think I mind so much.

Truth is, maybe I'm a bit concerned if I can find such time, the weather in Malaysia will not permit me follow what Syerotte do in for her pastime.
Where she is in the, the 'kabus' is not smoke from passing vehicles but real mist.
And people will not jeer or cat-call you just because you're a girl on a bike.
Damn la this kampung mentality.

I was browsing through Ebay and I came across so many of modern bikes. Didn't know that so much technology can be applied to a b-i-c-y-c-l-e.

Anyway, my favorite is the red-framed bike. Just the size for my height, and its tailored for ladies =)

Oooh aaaahs all the way.

we love this monster

In the bubbles in my head I speak in one breath: (out of sheer frustration + excitement)

got an email from a friend, an expat, (a friend of DN btw) who's parting from his precious love the monster because he is heading home. DN must've told him I like bikes, especially the naked ones, but NO ONE would actually allow me to take bike license and ride like I was born to ride because it just won't look nice for ladies to ride in a superbike nevertheless I still have the hots and its a good thing that my dearest loves riding big bikes, and share the same likings for monster, raptor or ever the affordable blade. Ducatis and Cagivas would fetch something like 70 k, hahaha yes you're talking about me ever the kedekut one I just won't part with my money for some increasing liability machine but it will be a different thing when and if I'm earning $20 k per month which I'm not so I'm still with my trusty ride which gets me from point A to point B rather slow hahaha. But this guy, is selling his Monster for a price below $20 k. When I called him, too bad, DN have bought it. Damn.
What a bargain. Even if I dont have that much of a money, but maybe I can blackmail Yah for some moolah. Hahahahahahaha.
Sorry darling, we will get out hands on this monster, sooner or later. =P

Hey you guys, the contract I had with ***** ends this January. I don't think I'll stay much longer, I plan to start a family, all the kicks and bangs, so I'm heading back to the UK soon. I'm selling it in a good price, (RM18,000.00) but the thing is its best if I can get it paid by cash? So let me know if any of our friends are interested. (Don't feel guilty. Bikes in the UK are relatively cheap, yknow)

I've included some of the details of the bike, so do give me a ring.

got wheels?

So not keeping up with Joneses.
Just the latest news ya. (Niat baik)

SR had upgraded to a Camry 2.0
SN got himself a Beemer 5 series and CK an S series Merc.

Enough with some news from the former offices of mine, climbing down the ladder, to our circle of friends: Its all good news they’re doing good.

Farhan is getting the Camry (well, his current ride is a Merc anyway).
Ijat himself a Latio (eugh Ijat, hodoh la keta tuh) and Fara (not having her driving license yet but still) a Vios.

Ooh Amin bomoh jawa now awaits for thr big fat grill for his brand new Audi A4.
Hana and her man joined the big boys club and rode off in a Kawasaki Vulcan.
Mich Chung is off in a Lexus after his Murano got stolen.
I heard him telling me with my mouth forming into a perfect “o”.

************************

Well, from the other side of the world: the green people

You have the relentless Yah with her bus number 11 (that’s pejalan kaki for you) yup she’s an environment activist suddenly so I think the only car she would use is the boring sleepy Prius which is unavailable in our country anyway.

Well, the partner in my ex-firm DN is still relying on his Perdana, courtesy of a company he helped once and not budging for any sort of temptation even after winning a Nissan X-trail free and easy.
He sold the X-trail and gave the money to an orphanage.
He’s the man.

So is the senior N.
Had always been faithful with his 1996 320.
When he can afford something flashy like the S-type jag.

***************************

Me?
*Grin.

I’m a little bit of both.
I don’t even have time to wash poor Bakri and do you think I have time to adore the new car if I buy one?

Go have a wild guess.
I love cars.
I talk about them all day.
Much to Yah's annoyance when she was telling some important "news" when I cut off the conversation and would point out "Damn, look at that Lancer. Oooh".

Judge from how dusty and dirty the car looks, and you know the answer.
Bakri even got a caked dust up his nose, man.

(maybe I should head up to the nearest car wash).
Not now. Not soon.
I’m just happy with the cranky old man.
some genius on one really dirrrrrrrrrty car.
