bellum omnium in omnes

A war of all, against All.
(Wah three posts in three days. I'm so freeee! Boss is in Switzerland for couple of weeks

Anyway. I'm an 80's kid.
I grow up listening music from cassettes.
It was an 'in-thing' during my teenage years to own a Walkman, although Discmans were already available, but they weren't as popular as cassettes players.

Simply because one CD is priced at RM40+.
And cassette is RM12+. Being a schoolkid with a daily allowances of RM2, we can only afford the later.

Anyhoo. That's the good old days.

Where piracy is not heard of.
Until the very enterprising pirates catches up and built their empire on cheap pirated CDs.

Thing is, no one feels wrong or guilty about pirated goods.
In fact they feel heroic to back-stab the giants of multinational company by supporting the counterfeited items.
As if they're doing the world a favour by doing that.

Wrong.

First of all, let me tell you, (anti capitalist pirate goods buyer), the big Corps are not going to disappear just because there's piracy.
Afterall, they're not going to argue further knowing that their goods are made of quality.

And secondly, the counterfeiting is not the only crime involved in the market.
You thought, some child labour would get paid the same rate as the Big Corps would pay the poor kids.

pic from http://www.blessforall.org/childdevelopment.htm

Fine the Big MNC Corporation is still guilty of taking up cheap labour, but the Pirates Co. is the same old with the Big C. (Nike I hear ye)

And where you don't know, the Pirates Co.'s crimes does not end there.
This is a Black Market we're talking about, man.
In the ghetto y'all (I better quit talking like that) Human trafficking, bribery (especially to the customs and auhtorities) homicides and all are all part of the package.
Don't you wonder why the Pirates in Petaling Street still exist?

In my research I found that a factory in China, producing medicine (read: counterfeited) which was shipped later to Brazil and sold as an alternative cheaper medicine, resulted into 50 deaths.
The horrendous part is, the medicine was bought by a bona-fide NGO as a means of charity.

Talk about paying the Ultimate Price.

So don't feel sorry if you're turning down an offer from a Makcik selling you fake Guess bag.
You're doing her a favour.Afterall, in their chain of life, the small fishes get caught first.

Same goes for pirated DVD's peddlers.
If you feel there's no alternative to the Hollywood made movies, then I suggest if its good enough, just go to your nearest cinema. I'm sure it'll worth it.
Or take up a new hobby ke. Do you know sleeping activates your braincells more than TV-Movie watching. I'm just saying

(Yang aku tak fahamnya, ada je someone I know up there on the bench, a self-confessed pirated DVD addict.) Haisy.

You know your part, if you feel disgusted with the Capitalist scheme, please feel equally the same to the Pirates.
Boycott all the roots of crime.

Takde apa yang indahnya.
Walaupun murah.

Sekian terima kasih.
